Muslim IT Council is a group of IT professionals who share
a passion for technology. innovation and love to help community members. We aim
to provide a platform for networking, learning, and collaboration among our
members and the wider IT community.
Our board of directors consists of experienced and
dedicated individuals who volunteer their time and expertise to guide the
vision and direction of our organization. They are responsible for overseeing
the strategic planning, financial management, governance.

Shafeek Abubaker
Director
MLO – NEXA MORTGAGE
Shafeek is into mortgage loan business (NMLS#2326285) with a passion to help individuals and families achieve their homeownership dreams. Shafeek has worked in the IT industry for over 20 years. Outside of businesses, he serves on several boards, including the Board of Fire and Police of Naperville, Citizens Appreciate Public Safety (CAPS), and The Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago (CIOGC).
Infrastructure Strategy Lead
Waheed Sujjad has 20+ years of experience in the IT industry working for Fortune 500 companies. Waheed was one of the founding members of the Multi-Cultural Business Synergy team at Nissan Motor Company. Waheed also served as a board member of the Asian American Association for 15 years. He has passion to see the community members grow in the IT industry as individuals or businesses.
